What is The Petal Thing?
The Petal Thing is floral studio and creative space, inspired by Korean floral design and the idea that flowers are more than gifts - they’re emotional expressions. Every arrangement is designed with intention, feeling, and a modern artistic touch.
Where are you located? Can I visit the shop?
Yes! We are located at 19900 W Catawba Ave, Suite 106 in Cornelius, NC. You’re always welcome to stop by during business hours, whether you’re picking up flowers or just looking for inspiration.
What is The Petal Designer’s Choice?
The Petal Designer’s Choice is a one-of-a-kind floral arrangement created entirely by us, using the freshest seasonal blooms available that week. You’re trusting my design style, color harmony, and artistic process. Each arrangement is custom, expressive, and never replicated - designed to feel thoughtful, modern, and full of intention. If you’d like to share a preferred color palette, occasion, or feeling (soft, bold, romantic, minimal), We are always happy to take that into account while allowing the flowers to lead the design.
What’s the difference between a bouquet and a ceramic vase arrangement?
A bouquet is hand-tied and finished with Korean-style wrapping, thoughtfully styled to complement the shape and movement of the flowers. Each bouquet is presented in a carry-out bag, and bouquets with 24 or more stems include a water pouch to keep the flowers fresh while they’re on the go. Bouquets are designed to be placed into your own vase at home - we do not sell vases for bouquets.
A ceramic vase arrangement arrives fully designed in a reusable ceramic vase, styled and balanced by us from start to finish. It’s a ready-to-display piece, ideal for gifting or for moments when you want something polished with no extra steps.
Both options feature the same level of care, seasonal blooms, and artistic intention - the difference is simply how the flowers are presented and experienced.
Can I share preferences or special requests for my order?
Yes. You can share your preferences, such as favorite colors, flowers you love (or dislike), the occasion, or any special notes about your order. This helps me understand the feeling you’re hoping to capture while still allowing space for creative interpretation and seasonal availability. While we can’t guarantee specific flowers due to seasonal availability, every detail you share is thoughtfully considered in the design process.
What is a specialty box arrangement?
A specialty box arrangement is a Korean-inspired floral design arranged in an elegant gift box rather than a traditional vase. The flowers are designed low and sculptural, creating a refined, modern look that feels both artistic and intentional. Specialty boxes are perfect for gifting, celebrating meaningful moments, or when you want something beautifully unexpected. Each box is thoughtfully designed using seasonal blooms and is meant to be enjoyed exactly as it arrives - no vase needed.
Do you offer same-day delivery?
Yes, same-day delivery is available for orders placed before 11 AM or by contacting me directly. Availability can depend on the day and flower inventory, so texting or calling is the fastest way to check.
How far in advance should I order?
For online orders, I recommend placing your order 1-2 days in advance whenever possible. This allows me to source the freshest flowers and give each arrangement the attention it deserves. For special custom requests, large arrangements, or events, it’s best to reach out one to two weeks in advance. Extra lead time gives us room to discuss details, color palettes, and overall vision while working with seasonal availability. Flower subscriptions include a built-in up to two-week head start, which allows us to plan designs and sourcing in advance for consistent, high-quality deliveries.
Why don’t you offer funeral flowers or lists of specific occasions?
We intentionally don’t separate flowers by occasion or offer preset categories like funeral, birthday, or anniversary arrangements. At The Petal Thing, we believe flowers are deeply personal, and meaning comes from how they’re designed and presented, not from a label. Flowers can always be ordered by color palette or as The Petal Designer’s Choice. Before checkout, you can note the occasion and share any important details. I thoughtfully style and prepare each arrangement so it feels appropriate, respectful, and meaningful for the moment it’s meant to honor. If you’re ever unsure what to choose, Designer’s Choice is the easiest way to trust the process - I’ll take care of the rest with intention and care.
Do you design custom arrangements or only what’s online?
Everything we create is custom - even the designs you see online. We work with seasonal flowers, so no two arrangements are ever exactly the same. If you have a color palette, mood, or story in mind, we are happy to design something just for you.
